Description: The Séailles estate is located in the heart of Ténarèze and has been producing Armagnac since 1960. Owned by the Laberren family, the property and production has been run by their partner Julien Franclet since 2009. This barrel, along with all produced up to 1997, is distilled from a blend of Ugni blanc and Colombard grapes. Aged in a heavy toasted French oak barrel, the influence is evident on the eye, nose, and palate. A favorite vintage of Julien’s, the barrels from this vintage are highlighted for their dynamic combination of beauty and power.
Notes: Nose: Lightly salted dark chocolate, dark red fruits and a touch of marzipan.
Palate: Well-balanced, overripe plum, rasins, vanilla extract, and a hint of dark roast coffee
Finish: The plum flavor comes across more cooked after time in the mouth with a sprinking of baking spices and vanilla extract returns for the finale
