Maison Aurian
"La Premiere"
Autoroute V&T Private Selection
Description: In early 2024, Vik & Tom escaped the Midwestern winter to be the very first to experience the outcome of OADE’s many travels through Gascony. They spent an entire day tasting samples from a dozen Armagnac houses. Each sample had already been meticulously pre-selected by OADE during their exploration of over 60 producers. Vik & Tom picked this beautiful, bright yet rustic 2001 Maison Aurian that they are excited to share with friends.
Tasting Notes: Nose: Pungent fresh red fruits, ripe cherry, plum. Subsequent whiffs elicit vanilla and toasty oak.
Palate: The Vanilla note on the nose transitions to a dense, hot caramel wrapped in bold, savory spices and medicinal deep cherry. This armagnac drinks much older than its age.
Finish: A thick syrupy texture carries the palate notes through to the finish with sweet oak flavors lingering.
