Description

A random slide into OADE’s DMs sparked a connection & then a love for the brand, its spirits, & the stories in every pour. That spark brought together The Craft Whiskey Collective (Maks & Brandon) & GlobetrottingDesi (Pranav) for ten blind pours. We tasted, laughed, & debated until the “Shared Spark” emerged in magic glass #8. More than a pick, this bottle proves different paths can meet in a single pour. Here’s to old friends, new ones, & those destiny has yet to pour!

The producer

Domaine de Juglaron

Located just outside Eauze in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Domaine de Juglaron is the home of Armagnac Duffau, a family estate shaped by generations of work in the vineyards and cellar. The domaine sits on the region’s characteristic sandy soils, long prized for producing elegant and aromatic eaux-de-vie.

The Duffau family has cultivated the property across multiple generations, with Lucie and Louis Duffau preceding Gérard and Roland Duffau, the brothers who carry the domaine’s Armagnac tradition forward today. Over time, each generation expanded and developed the estate while preserving a deeply hands-on approach to production.

Gérard and Roland oversee the entire process, from tending the vines and making the wine through distillation, oak aging, and bottling. Ugni Blanc and Colombard are grown for their Armagnac, which is distilled in a traditional continuous Armagnac still and matured in Gascon oak.

Perhaps most distinctive is the domaine’s combination of scale and traditional family control. The result is an estate where generations of accumulated stocks sit alongside an active, working distillery, preserving the character and history of Bas-Armagnac one vintage at a time.
